Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in style, travel, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

TIMES IN TORONTO

TIMES IN TORONTO

Over the weekend, I headed up to Toronto, Ontario with a friend for a quick overnight trip in the city. It was a trip I'd been meaning to take for a few months now and I'm happy to have gotten it over with just before the end of the holidays and the end of the year. We road-tripped up through Ontario from Detroit and saw the city during my favorite time of year. It was brutally cold but absolutely perfect.

Shop the look at the bottom of this post.

We got there around 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon and immediately checked into our amazing Airbnb. The condo was walking-distance to al of the sights in Toronto and also very neat and clean. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick stay in the heart of the city.

On day one, we got food at Jack Astor's Bar & Grill on Front and University downtown. Get the chicken strips if you ever make it there, thank me later. After that, we, of course, headed to the holy grail of hockey, the Hockey Hall of Fame. Had we not gone in there at around 4:45, I could've spent all day in there reading about the sport and the NHL's 100 years. But, they closed at 6 and it was back to the Airbnb to warm up from the wicked temperatures outside.

We headed to Nathan Phillips Square to see the Holiday Fair and the little local stores who set up shop throughout the public space. It was packed with people for being a Saturday evening, so we didn't skate, but managed to get some touristy shots in front of the maple leaf in the Toronto sign. {Had to}.

Next up was the Toronto Christmas Market and wow, was I in love with it. It almost made me forget how frozen I was, though the cold totally set the scene. The whole neighborhood was so cute and I found this awesome store, called Gotstyle, and it's safe to say I'm obsessed with it now. Women's products are in-store.

To end Saturday night was perfect. Sweet Jesus, a soft-serve ice cream store in the city was a place that I had been dying to try for at least a year. When I got my ice cream, it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Looking at these photos again makes me sad and wish that I was standing in the tiny shop again. Plus, the vibe of the store was fun and urban, so it's a great spot for everyone to grab a quick, sweet bite.

On Sunday, it was brunch at Azure at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown. After that, we headed out to the Yorkdale Shopping Centre to do a little shopping in the business of the weekend before Christmas. My favorite macaron shop, Ladurée, opened a brand new store in the shopping centre three days before we got there, so obviously, we had to stop in. P.S., try the maple syrup flavored macaron, again, you will thank me later.

So thought it was a quick trip, it was very fun and I loved every minute of it - even freezing to the point where I couldn't feel if I was walking or not. I hope to be back in the beautiful city of Toronto very soon, so until then....
