Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in style, travel, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

LONDON IN JUNE

LONDON IN JUNE

Last weekend I did something that I had always wanted to do: travel spontaneously to a new place. That place was London, England. My friend Maddie and I planned the trip literally 36 hours before we landed in the UK. I was kind of nervous for how it would go, since both of us had never been there before, but it ended up being perfect. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days.

We stayed in an Airbnb in Queensway, London {near Bayswater}. We were around the block from a little strip of stores and right near Notting Hill. It was a little small however certainly livable. On the first day, we went to a restaurant near the Airbnb and had a poor meal, but didn't let it get us down since we were in London.

Later that day, the sun rolled out from behind the clouds and we got drinks on a boat in the River Thames. I believe the place was called Pim's and it was directly across from The London Eye {if that is not the correct name of it, use the Eye for reference}. There we got mojito's, which are my favorite, and I had to take advantage for being legal in Europe. They were amazing at that place.

Also on the first day, we learned how to use the public transportation to get around. On the way to Westminster from Bayswater, there is a stop called Sloane Square. And seriously, if I was a neighborhood in London, I would be Sloane Square for sure :). Below is me peaking in my neighborhood of London.

On day two, the weather was PERFECT. It was warm and sunny with a little bit of a breeze, I couldn't have asked for anything else. That day, we did a little bit more of the touristy things, like see The London Eye, a riverboat cruise, and walked all the way to the Tower Bridge. It was such a nice day, I wanted to be outside the whole time.

The only complaint I had of the entire time was the construction. Ugh.

While we saw the city, I for some reason was not apt to taking photos like I usually am in a new place {and old}. It felt so natural and casual being there as if I'd lived my entire life in London. I didn't feel the need to be constantly snapping photos.

On our last day, it was gloomy and rainy, typical London. We spent time around Piccadilly Circus and accidentally found Buckingham Palace. We also made a stop at LadurĂ©e, the famous macaron shop from Paris. I'm obsessed with macarons and LadurĂ©e exceeded my expectations. I must now visit the original in Paris.

Our descent back to the airport was anything but smooth - I'll spare the details - though luckily we made our flight back to Dublin. I look back on the few photos I did take and am happy that this trip worked out. I definitely will be coming back to London soon, since I think it's my new favorite city.

Have you been to London? Any tips for next time?
